This year’s line up is literally bursting with stars - we’ll see such bands as Muse, Jared Letos’s 30 Seconds To Mars, Pharrel William’s N.E.R.D and living legend of the electronic music, The Chemical Brothers. Nothing left to say and do, just purchasing the tickets and coming to Krakow in the second half of August to experience some real good fun.
And if coming, than of course not without previously arranged accommodation at Hostel Deco :) Book rooms or beds for the whole duration of the festival, as at that time we’ll have an obligatory minimal stay – for deets go to page ‘Discounts’.

17.04.2010 | Selector, Selector, Selector.
More hot news on Selector Festival! New guests have been announced, and there are BIG.
First of all, Calvin Harris – if you were on Orange Festival this September in Warsaw and saw him live, you know what to expect and you have probably already bought the tickets. If you weren’t, you definitely should make up for it! Calvin Harris’ music is the purest essence of disco (according to what he claims, he actually created the genre..) and when listening to it no one can keep from dancing.
The rest of the recently added to the bill artists are the psychodelic Friendly Fires, well known for mixing alter rock and electronic music, Bloody Beetrooots Death Crew 77 known for their great duo with Steve Aoki, as well as Delphic and Booka Shade.
Sounds like whole loads of fun! read more »
10.04.2010 | Pillow Fight 2010
This time something completely different… A Pillow Fight! First edition of the event in the April 2009 turned out to be so successful that it was really just a question of time before the subject emerges again. The idea is so simple, yet so brilliant: everybody takes a pillow with themselves, shows up on the Market Square on the 10th of April, and at 2 pm starts pillow fighting. The thing is, basically, addressed to students of competing universities of Kraków, as they put on t-shirts in differing colours (white is for Jagiellonian University, black is for University of Science and Technology and green is for University of Economics) and at the end a winner school is being announced, but everybody’s free and very welcome to join!
So take a pillow and join the pillow fighting fun! read more »

Each square, street or avenue will form a different, bearing its own title part of the exhibition, with paintings focused on one specific idea. Although all of them are connected by the main theme, which is the power of mass media and pop-culture over human the society.
Enough of descriptions, it’s best to just go and see it with your own eyes. The opening of the exhibition will be held on the 25th of March, while the exhibition itself will last till 23rd May.

28.02.2010 | Update on Selector Festival.
We promised more news on Selector Festival 2010 and hereby we redeem the promise. First stars of this year’s edition have been announced, and we have to admit, it looks very promising. As a headliner we will see Faithless, a group that doesn’t have to be presented to anyone. The european tournée will promote their long awaited new album. Along with the guys responsible for the smash hit “God Is a DJ” we will see Thievery Corporation. The American DJ duo, best known for mixing down tempo, lounge and dub will make up to all their Polish fans for a show that was scheduled to take place during Open’er 2009, but unfortunately had to be cancelled. The rest of recently revealed artists filling this year’s line up, Metronomy, Boys Noize and Uffie can’t brag with such a long history and discography, but are as promising as the already mentioned veterans used to be in the beginnings of their careers. Uffie has already gotten herself a group of loyal fans, especially after the fruitful cooperation with Justice which result was “Party”, a track that ruled all the parties [sic!]. Metronomy and Boys Noize are still waiting for worldwide acclamation, which is exactly why it’s worth to see their shows live and witness their road to the top.
So get excited with the perspercitve of seeing such an exquisite combo in action and don’t forget that there’s still more to come…

Another weekend, another concert. This time we invite you to see Jacek Lachowicz in Club Re (Św. Krzyża street 4). The concert takes place on Thursday, 18th of February. You will have a chance to experience live the songs from his new album, “Pigs, Joys and Organs” published by well know and highly appreciated label Mystic, which previously published such artists as Gaba Kulka, Dick4Dick and Czesław Mozil. His music is a mix of blues, psychedelic rock, new wave and garage rock, which is a kind of novelty, as he used to be more into ambient kind of stuff. 14.02.2010 | Valentine's Day. Part One.
Valentine's Day. Part one that is highly subjective view of K. It is comming soon, let's be prepared. Let's consider some options that the City offers to two in love. Where to go on Valentine's Day? Cracow's notorious for its cafes. Countless, time and money consuming, lovely. Entitled to do so or not, I decided to prepare coffee shop rating. My criteria were: location; charm and atmosphere of a place that should be suitable for a romantic evening for two; menu; intimacy and comfort. I left out all the unwelcomely expensive and appallingly exclusive places. I admitted all the ordinary ones (having that extraordinary something). My no. 1 is...

04.02.2010 | Anka Ujma Quartet concert
This week we invite you to club Piękny Pies on Sławkowska street 6a. On thursday, the 4th of february there will be held a concert of Anka Ujma Quartet there. The band, which is being led, as you can easily guess, by based in Paris Anka Ujma, plays alternative, hard to simply qualify music. Something between post-rock, d'n'b, folk and repetitive music. Difficult to describe, way easier to just go and listen. So don't miss this event if you're a fan of weird, hard to define music. And if you're not, pop in anyway, nobody ever experienced boredom in the legendary Piękny Pies!

When it’s freezing cold outside and even the biggest fashion victims are forced to take these thick winter jackets out of their closets it’s good to focus on the aesthetics of the inner layers. It seems the designers from the brand Misbehave and atelier Zemełka&Pirowska, masterminds behind Cracow Vibe Project thought the same way. The event, held on the 30th of January in Pauza club (ul. Floriańska 18), is not only a chance to have a look at and buy clothes created by young independent polish designers, but also to take part in some major modern art experiencin’. The event is divided into two parts:
-the day part, a ‘yard sale’ lasting from 12am till 6pm, during which you could look through, as well as purchase the goods presented in one of two showrooms, and then maybe contemplate your new treasures while drinking coffee in the bar jointing them.
-the night part, taking place on the dancefloor in the basement, form 10 pm till 6 am. The star of the evening is said to be Ben Westbeech.
So reserve some of your time, take some savings and come to Pauza next Saturday! read more »
